Blessing of the Backpacks

As a new school year begins, students, teachers, school staff, and college students are invited to bring a backpack, book bag, tote, or work bag for a special Blessing of the Backpacks during worship on Sunday, August 23.

This brief moment of prayer celebrates the beginning of a new year and asks for God’s wisdom, courage, and presence in every classroom, office, and learning space. Whether starting preschool, heading back to college, teaching, or supporting students in another role, all are invited to take part.
