Giving children in our area a bed to call their own.
Who We Serve
Beds Equal Dreams provides beds and bedding to children in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in North Carolina and the Lancaster County School System in South Carolina who do not have a bed to call their own. Many of these children are homeless or living in transitional housing.
We are working to expand the ministry to more schools in the area, and we have partnered with Arlington Baptist Church in Mint Hill and St. John UMC in Fort Mill to extend our reach.
How We Serve
Twice a year, volunteers gather to build our easy-to-assemble bed frames from donated lumber. Past events have brought together upwards of 140 people from the church and community.
Every bed comes with a Tempur-Pedic mattress.
Linens, pillows, blankets, pajamas and a stuffed animal or toy, mostly donated and chosen around each child’s favorite things.
Our Goals
Connect the church and the community.
Drive the cost out of supplying the beds.
Seek long-term financial and in-kind support.
Families give a small donation and provide their own transportation.
